A teacher friend showed me this blog, and I immediately felt I needed to submit a thank you to all you dedicated public school teachers out there. I am the parent of a second grade son who has come a long way due to loving teachers. It quickly became apparent during his kindergarten year that learning did not come easily to him. He wasn’t low enough to qualify for a special education, but the normal flow of instruction wasn’t cutting it for him either. He was in that awkward area with great risk of becoming lost and left behind.
And since? He continues to have wonderful teachers who sacrifice their own time to ensure his success. I’m so grateful. They’ve done what I didn’t know how to do.
Teachers are incredible. You work long hours, receive insufficient compensation, endure behavior challenges (from both kids and parents!), etc. Thank you. Thank you for everything. Your efforts are nothing short of miraculous.
